Fat Lorenzo’s
5600 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55417
(612) 822-2040

Here’s a South Minneapolis classic. Fat Lorenzo’s. Anyone that lives in the Nokomis area knows Fat Lorenzo’s. They are known for their pizzas, hogies, and pasta dishes. I especially like the pasta dishes, namely the Garlic Chicken Alfredo. Established in 1987, they’ve been serving up a storm ever since.

Jakeenos Pizza and Pasta
3555 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407
(612) 825-6827

Since 1975, they’ve been a local fixture of the Powderhorn neighborhood. The crust is light and crusty with ample toppings. They also have hogies as well as an assortment of pasta dishes.

Pizza Luce – Uptown
3200 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408
(612) 827-5978

Too many awards to mention, Pizza Luce is just a great place to grab a bite. They serve not only pizzas, but also sandwiches, pasta, and hogies. Everything looks so good that you’ll have a hard time choosing which to order.

Carbone’s
4724 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407
(612) 724-0063

Carbone’s was voted “Best Pizza” in Mpls / St. Paul Magazine. They have many locations, 36 to be exact, although I’ve only been to this particular one. Not only do they have pizzas, they also have hogies, and gyros.

Beek’s Pizza
5336 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419
(612) 827-2567

Beek’s Pizza started on Hiawatha and became known as “the place” to go. They claim their secret is “Old World flavor”. Everything is made from scratch and has been since 1953. There are currently 2 locations, including this one listed above and one in St. Louis Park.
