We are saddened by the announcement of the closing of Mike’s Corner Store at 56th and Chicago. This store has been in the hood for 18 years, originally starting as a corner drug store. The store changed along with the times and most currently had gifts, cards, movie rentals, and take-and-bake pizzas.
The pizza’s are a favorite among local residents, with neighborhood icons as names. Until the store closes, you can still get a “Chicago Avenue” or a “Diamond Lake” or a “Pearl Park” pizza.
Mike’s Corner Store also supported local community by contributing to many local organizations.
A lot of people will miss Mike’s Corner Store.
